Wednesday 10th January
This is our last day in the Big Apple and our flight leaves quite late so we have the day to soak up the last of this bustling, manic city. We take a cab down to Greenwich Village, stop for coffee ….. then start walking. We walk down to 5th Ave then all the way uptown. Obligatory stop at both the M & M and the Hershey shops…… chocolate heaven, although I’m not a fan of Hershey chocolate …….. Cadbury beats the taste hands down. We also check out the Disney shop and make purchases for Angus and the new baby. We tried to get in to see the “Jersey Boys” but too late.
After a few tense moments waiting on busy 57th St, cab laden with our luggage but no sign of the girls, they finally arrive (they are seriously testing the friendship) and we are off to JFK for our flight to Frankfurt. There is a hiccup with Gordy and my connecting flight as we find we are ticketed on the wrong dates – however it is finally sorted and we arrive in Lisbon three hours later.
