We pick up our car from Europcar, a Renault Megane – next time if travelling with a crowd we will try Avis, they seem to have bigger cars. 198 kms later we arrive at Condeixa-a-Nova ……… again there has been a ‘stuff-up’, this time with the pousadas so a few phone calls required to sort that out. We have missed the restaurant however the staff kindly bring us out a platter of cheeses, breads etc and wine....perfect beside the fire. The pousadas are magnificent (www.pousadas.pt) - all are old castles, monasteries, convents that have been converted to hotels with restaurants, bars etc and are quite beautiful. The restaurants are all fantastic.
