New Year’s Day – we braved the weather and walked down to Princes St where a lone piper stood on the street corner playing the bagpipes. The sound was extraordinarily eerie and beautiful at the same time on this dawning of a new year. We visited the outside of the Edinburgh Dungeons, but when I decided I didn’t want to go in, the others chickened out too! They did, however, go on the Ferris Wheel. We wandered the streets of the city then stopped at Bella Italiano for an early dinner. I have been keeping a track of our expenses and so far I have managed to dispense over GBP1,100.....I have now officially stopped counting! Suffice to say we are having a good time.
