Next stop - Ljubjana

After breakfast we take a cab to the station to board the 9.04 train to Ljubjana – ETA 1353

Lots of snow around!!  During our journey the train stopped to ‘pull apart’! After a little consternation we realised that we were, in fact, still on one of the three carriages going through to Ljubjana.

The hotel doesn't seem to be far from the station so we decide to walk......unfortunately we take the long way!  We also stop at the ATM to cash up with some local currency, the Slovenian Dollar.  I draw out SIT2000 – it ended up being 8 euros!!

Hotel Lev is very modern but not many visitors at this time of the year.  We take off to explore the city – what a surprise!  Three bridges cross the river into the Old Town.  Lots of stalls where we purchase jewellery, candle holders – lots of concerts on – we went to Sokol Restaurant for a traditional Slovenian meal – after which we do more sightseeing and check out the church.  The girls are thrilled – they have English speaking TV!!
