After leaving Conimbriga we are heading to our next pousada and the road takes us very high, up some very windy roads. By the time we are at the peak of the mountain range it it quite cold and even snows a little. We discover an open shop at the peak and the family sells all sorts of things. As my mission is to support the local economy (no matter where I am) I purchase sheep skin slippers (which I'm still wearing), and some beautiful little hand-painted bowls. Their generator has just broken so we are shopping by 'feel' but it is a lovely experience.
