After breakfast at the Lodge we venture down the main street again – this time buying some serious ‘cold weather’ boots and another parka. There is a moment of consternation when it looks like we are not able to hire a car, however ‘Ben’ rings ‘Nick’ at Hertz and we are soon off to Lake Louise.
It’s an easy drive and the scenery is fantastic – the Chateau is amazing when it suddenly looms in all it’s majesty against a backdrop of snow covered mountains.
