This morning we walked around St Malo,
which is entirely surrounded by ramparts.
It is a town on the coastline so fishing is a major industry. We visit the historic Saint Malo Castle and
at the top of the castle we have wonderful views across the city. We then set off for Angers.
It’s an extremely sad time here in France
with the assassination of twelve people at Charlie Hebdo. A day of mourning for all of France.
We book into Mercure Centre Gare, Angers. The check-in process has been a little protracted
… went to the wrong Mercure, then couldn’t find the hotel … then couldn’t find
their parking …..it was all a little daunting but we finally parked the car
under the main square. We were able to
change to the hotel car park and then we decided to do a “pub” crawl! Well maybe a “bar hop”! After a fruitless search for a restaurant
suggested for us, we end up at Chez Remi – which turns out to be very nice.
Really tired, so back in our room with
Gordy desperately trying to find an English speaking channel – c’est le vie!
