After breakfast our first stop is Blarney
Castle, which is only about a 15 – 20 minute drive from our hotel. The gardens are absolutely stunning and we
take an extended walk through the grounds.
Ireland’s romantic reputation for mystical tales, fairies and
leprechauns, babbling brooks and green pastures
is very easy to understand when you are in such a wonderful
environment. A stop at the Woollen Mills
for a quick shop then back to the hotel where we leave the car and take a
stroll into town through the university, which is across the road. Feeling a bit peckish but lo and behold (!)
in the French quarter of town I discover a ‘crepe’ store! Enough said J I am
now going to go for a swim to attempt to undo some of the damage!
