We leave from Montparnasse and an hour
later arrive in Chartres. We are staying
at the Mercure, typical large hotel chain but close to the cathedral, which is
the main reason we are here. The
cathedral is amazing. One of the finest
examples of Gothic architecture in the world and the stained windows are
absolutely amazing! I have seen many
cathedrals in the world, Chartres stands out as one of the most amazing I have
ever encountered.

It’s quite cold walking around so we head
to a bistro for a bite to eat and a warming wine then it’s back to the
cathedral for a tour of the crypt.
