Day 20 – Off to the Museum of Science and
Industry today. These museums/art
galleries etc are all HUGE! MSI is no
different….it’s like the Science Museum in Brisbane only much, much bigger and
not only has all the fun science interactive stuff but also things like a full
size aeroplane, submarine, train…you name it!
An amazing train set, circus scenes, holograms…the list goes on. Very easy to spend several hours there (which
we do) and then head back into Chicago.
I’m in need of some maintenance, so off to the nail salon! What can I say…same here as in Brisbane –
Asian operators, walk-in, no appointment necessary, but at least I now am
feeling “mani-refreshed!”
Tonight we head down to the John Hancock
Building and up to the 96th floor for cocktails and nibbles! I scoff down two drinks and am still feeling
decidedly ill being so far above ground level …can’t wait to get out. Granted, the view over Chicago is amazing but
I’m not one for heights. Next stop –
Second City. A home for stand-up
comedians that has been going since the 1950s and we settle into an intimate
theatre space where the five comedians then come out and proceed to entertain
with impromptu acts prompted by suggestions from the audience. A fun night.
Back to the hotel …. we have an early start in the morning as we are off
to Denver.
