Bad Blumau- 08/01/13

Our Room

OK _ So it was an effort to get here ...... but...this is the most amazing place!

Breakfast at Bad Blumau – A breakfast bar that runs the length of a very large room.  Four different types of water – mint, apples and rosemary, rose quartz, lemon.  Three, five and seven minute organic eggs all wearing ‘smiley faces’.   Fried, scrambled egg, sausages, bacon, ham, six styles of yoghurt, cereals, bircher muesli, dried, poached and fresh fruit, nuts and seeds.  Ten styles of bread, vegetables, charcuterie, cheeses, condiments, teas, milk (warm, cold, soy, light….you name it).  Everything is locally sourced and organic.  And of course, pastries.

50 odd people at lunch and we were the only ones dressed!
Everybody wears their white towelling robes.

Our bathroom - you can see the broken tiles etc - nothing is symmetrical

Bad Blumau is huge.  Winding corridors meander, quite literally throughout the whole construction.  There is barely a straight line to be seen.  The floors are like gentle rolling hills against whitewashed walls decorated with tiled trees and everywhere the sweet smell of incense or scented candles.  Walking through to the pools you pass a mass of brightly coloured lockers before entering a maze of pools and whirlpools surrounded by deck chairs and private lounging beds.  You pass through a curtain of heavy plastic to find yourself outside with the snow gently falling……and yes, there is a very light blanket of snow falling.  Gordy is ecstatic!

Gordy discovered the gym while I discovered the thermal pools.  Amazing!  I was swimming in the pools while the snow fell.

At lunch we were the only two dressed!

Dinner was splendid.  Quite a experience.
