Breakfast, pack....we are getting so good at this! Gordy had time to go to the gym, I had time to Skype. The resort organises a taxi for us to transport us to the railway station which is only about five minutes away. Gordy wanted to get there early but I convinced him there was no need and when you see the station...it was just as well we held off. :) The train leaves at 10.06 and it's a two and half hour journey to Vienna with a change of train for the last 20 minutes to Wien Meidling. It's then about a 20 minute cab ride to our hotel (20 euros).

Bad Blumau station..... not exactly a hive of activity :) |
The Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth is lovely. Easy check-in, the staff are very pleasant and our room on the second floor is quite roomy with extra seating etc. The position is great also, just a stone's throw from the main shopping mall. We then head to a little restaurant that was recommended to us for lunch, then off to the Albertina where there is a Matisse to Picasso exhibition plus a rather strange exhibition by ??? which is a series of naked men with acrylic paint added to distort the images....mmm?
Down to Sacher Hotel for Sacher Torte, a spot of shopping, a visit to St Stephan's and then we retrace our steps back to Konig Von Ungarn which is the hotel we stayed at during our last visit. Everything is comfortingly familiar.
Tonight we went to a great little restaurant about 5 - 10 minutes from our hotel. (Walk out of hotel, turn left, walk up to the little church on your right and you're there!) Artner am Franziskanerplatz...lovely food (they specialise in steak and it was really good!). Service was spot-on, great wine, relaxed ambience.
