Day 24 - Cordoba to Granada

We are off again - this time by bus!  Armed with our four suitcases and one carry-on (the other one is in a suitcase for the moment) we board our bus bound for Granada.  As we wind our way through the country side, from a distance, many of the hillsides look like the white cliffs of Dover but as you move closer you realise it's another village of the Andalucian style of white washed homes.  There are also acres upon acres of olive trees.  But who'd have thought an hour and a half into our trip and it would be snowing like crazy!  It looks fabulous and all is good until a car in front slides all over the road - cuts us off - and when our bus diver has to stop, that's the end of us!!  we can't get going again despite several attempts ... 15 minutes later we are still going nowhere - thankfully the police have turned up and stopped the traffic so we are able to reverse onto part of the road where the snow plow has visited and we are finally off again.   We are staying at Hotel Palacio del los Patos - not right in the heart of the old town but a beautiful hotel and the staff could not be more attentive.  No rush to do anything so after settling in we head to the restaurant for the usual afternoon refreshments.  Back to our room for a siesta where we are surprised with a bottle of French champagne and a plate of macarons!  We are booked for dinner at El Balcon de San Nicola's which is on a hill opposite the Alhambra, so the view is spectacular.  We then head to a Flamenco show, which is amazing.  Taxi ride home is scary to say the least.  The streets are barely wide enough for one car and the corners are treacherous - I am engrossed in the videos I've taken but GC is looking a little nervous!  On the upside, the Christmas decorations are still up and are spectacular!
