New trip 07/08 - First stop - Amsterdam!

25/12/07 - We leave a few minutes prior to midnight and after a glass (or three!) of champagne and half a sleeping pill I manage to sleep so feeling quite OK.  After stocking up on duty free cosmetics in Singapore we settle down and wait to board our flight to London.

32 hours of travel!  We finally make it to Schipol Airport.  Taxi ride to Hotel Estherea (E45 w/tip) then straight to bed. The room is very quaint (517), in the loft on the fifth floor, not huge but well equipped.  Downstairs the warmth and ambience is created by a rich tapestry of reds and browns.  Highly polished timbers compliment the reds of the velvet upholstery. Large dried branch arrangements are adorned with bronze glass leaves and purple baubles that glisten in the subdued light.   There is a well equipped library and a lounge with its own faux fireplace with circular seating surrounding a stunning chandelier.
