The hotel are obviously not angry at me
commandeering the “l’occitane” products every day as they have left a gift box
with more products as a parting gift and chocolates on our bed! Just what I need.
We are off the Gare du Lyon to catch a
train to Dijon
then we have a 15 minute changeover for our train to Beaune, arriving at
12.45pm. Ben and Penny are there
to pick us up at the station and we are soon in the apartment and ready for our two night stay.
Walking around Beaune we remember the highlights of this beautiful town and have soon purchased various flavoured nougat from Alain Batt, mustards, cheese from the fromagerie, pate and jambon persille from the boucherie and bread, croissants and grougeres from the boulangerie!! Oh, did I forget to mention the wine!
Nougat.......yum!
We have made a booking at Le Petit Paradis on Ben and Penny's recommendation for tonight, but for now are back at the apartment having a glass of wine to wash down the cheese and pates.
Le Petit Paradis is about a five minute walk around behind the church. A little restaurant that seats just 22, so bookings are a must. The food is delicious, although I think it gets better as we head toward dessert. Gordy chose a trilogy of crème brulee while I settled for tarte tatin.
This looks like it might have been late in the night....
