Slow start after dinner last night at the restaurant which was about 20 - 30 metres down the road.  We walked around the many winding streets of Annecy, down along the lake, back through the markets (some stalls were open, but not many).  Though I did mange to buy some truffle products and some organic body creams made from donkey milk!  Go figure!

We decided to walk around the lake to the Imperial Palace where we had the most divine lunch.  We chose the three course lunch where you have no idea what they are going to bring you .... it's a surprise!  First they brought around several 'amusee bouche' together with the most superb bread with truffle butter.  I had foie gras, followed by a pork fillet and then finished off with a chocolate and grapefruit parfait, not to mention the extra sweets they brought out at the end.   Everything was presented with such fanfare including the lifting of the glass cloches for each course!  The service was immaculate and the walk home, hopefully balanced some of the damage done .... but guess where we decided to go for dinner?
