Day 5

Christmas eve and I am still 'under the weather'.  We had a late start, not going to breakfast until 11.00am, then a cab downtown to the start of the High Line, an old elevated freight rail line transformed into a public park.  At the end of the walk we head to Macy's for a 'taster'.  People everywhere ...as per usual ..... after stopping for coffee (wine for GC) at the new cafe on the first level where the shoes are, we head uptown to the doctor's surgery for my 4.00pm appointment.  $260 for the visit and $260 for the drugs!  I have to go back in two days but apparently there is no charge for that visit.

Back to the hotel - I try to make a booking for dinner - most restaurants booked out, one offered us an 11.00pm spot but finally got into Bond45 on 45th at 9.30pm.  Situated in a space that used to be a menswear store called Bonds years ago - their policy was to always give you two pairs of pants when you bought a suit - it became a disco in the 70s with steps that flashed as you walked to the dance floor, and now it's an Italian restaurant!
